Empatalk

Empatalk for Chrome

Rewrite messages in Gmail, LinkedIn, Slack and GitHub, adapted to how the recipient actually communicates. In early access — join the waitlist for the Chrome Web Store launch.

How it works

Three steps, inside the compose box you were already using.

01

Write your draft

  • A Rewrite pill appears in the corner of the field.
  • Nothing is sent anywhere until you click it.
02

Say who it is for

  • Enter a colleague's handle to use their real Communication DNA.
  • Or pick relationship, tone and what they value — works for anyone.
03

Replace the draft

  • The rewrite keeps your meaning and changes how it lands.
  • Keep it, edit it, or ignore it — you always send the final word.

What a rewrite looks like

Same message, adapted to the person reading it.

To a manager who wants the point first

Your draft

Hey, so I've been looking at the timeline and there are a few things I'm worried about, mostly around the API work, and I think we might need to talk about the date at some point.

Adapted

I think we'll miss the date. The API work is the risk. Can we take 15 minutes today to decide whether to cut scope or move the deadline?

To a teammate who reads directness as anger

Your draft

This is wrong. The query runs on every render — that's why the page is slow. Please fix it.

Adapted

I think I found what's slowing the page down: the query runs on every render. Would it help if I walked you through what I'm seeing before you change anything?

To a client who needs the detail

Your draft

We're pushing the launch to next month, sorry about that.

Adapted

We're moving the launch to 14 March. The delay is on our side — the payment integration needs another round of testing, and shipping it untested would risk your first customers. Everything else stays on the agreed scope, and I'll send a revised plan on Friday.

Chrome extension FAQ

Can I install it today?

Not yet. It works end to end, but it isn't packaged for the Chrome Web Store, so there's no install link to give you. Join the waitlist above and you'll hear from us the day it's listed.

Which sites does it work on?

Gmail, LinkedIn, Slack and GitHub. Those are the four compose boxes where most work messages get written, and each one needs its own handling to insert text correctly.

Do I need an Empatalk account?

Yes. The extension signs in with your Empatalk session, and rewrites count against your plan the same way they do on the site. Free plans get a set number of rewrites each month; Pro and Team are unlimited — see the pricing page.

What leaves my browser?

Only what you hand it: the draft you wrote and the recipient details you chose, sent when you click Rewrite. It doesn't read your inbox, your message history, or any field you didn't ask it to rewrite.

Do I need the extension to use Empatalk?

No. The AI Communication Assistant does the same recipient-aware rewriting in the browser, with nothing to install. The extension just saves you the copy-paste.

Start now, extension or not

Use it in the browser today

The same recipient-aware rewriting, nothing to install — paste a draft and pick who it is for.

Already in Slack all day?

The Slack bot has been live for a while — eleven commands, straight from your workspace.
