New to Empatalk? Here is the fastest way to get up and running:
• Create a free account at empatalk.app using Google, GitHub, or email
• Complete the Communication DNA Survey — it takes about 5 minutes
• Review your AI-generated "How to work with me" guidelines on your profile page
• Share your profile link with colleagues so they can understand your communication style

Account and Profile
• How do I change my profile slug? Go to Account settings and update your URL slug. Your public profile will be at empatalk.app/u/your-slug.
• Can I retake the Communication DNA Survey? Yes, you can retake the survey at any time from your dashboard. Your previous results will be replaced with the new ones.
• How do I delete my account? Navigate to Account settings and select "Delete account". All your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
• I signed up with the wrong provider. Can I switch? Contact us at support@empatalk.app and we can help you merge or migrate your account.
Privacy and Data
• Who can see my survey answers? You control the visibility of each answer. Set them to Public (anyone with your link), Team (organisation members only), or Private (only used by AI, never shown to others).
• Does Empatalk sell my data? No. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
• Where is my data stored? Your data is stored in encrypted MongoDB Atlas databases with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit.
Billing and Plans
• How do I upgrade my plan? Go to Account settings and select the plan you want. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time.
• What payment methods do you accept? We accept all major credit cards and PayPal via Stripe.
• Can I get a refund? We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. Contact support@empatalk.app.
• Do you offer discounts for nonprofits or education? Yes. Email us at support@empatalk.app with details about your organisation.
Slack Bot
• How do I install the Empatalk Slack bot? Visit your Team dashboard, click "Add to Slack", and follow the OAuth flow to authorize the bot in your workspace.
• What commands does the Slack bot support? Use /empatalk match to score a message, /empatalk compare @user to see compatibility, and /empatalk help for the full command list.
• The bot is not responding. Make sure the bot has been invited to the channel with /invite @Empatalk. If the issue persists, contact support.
Troubleshooting
• The survey is not loading. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then reload the page. Make sure JavaScript is enabled. If the problem persists, try a different browser.
• My AI guidelines look wrong. AI-generated content is based on your survey answers. Try retaking the survey with more detailed responses for better accuracy.
• I cannot sign in. If you are using social login, make sure you are using the same provider (Google or GitHub) you signed up with. For email/password, try the password reset flow.
